Alvin Cardinal
Board Member – Secretary
Alvin Cardinal has extensive experience protecting neighborhoods in Washington D.C. as a sergeant in narcotics with the Metropolitan Police Department. In addition to his 20-year law enforcement career, he is involved in his local community and works with youth at his church. He is married and has one daughter starting college in the fall of 2022.
Steve Largent
Board Member – Vice Chair
Steve Largent is a former NFL football player who has received recognition in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is a retired congressman from Oklahoma serving from 1994-2002. Steve worked in a police lab, while in college, and had a brother who was a police officer that died in the line of duty. He has been a tremendous support to Code 3 since 2015.
Dale Sutherland
Board Member – Chair
Dale Sutherland worked for the DC Metropolitan Police Department for 26 years, retiring as Detective Sergeant in 2013. He has provided leadership for many non-profit organizations and, as an ordained pastor, has served many churches in the Washington DC area. He is married to Patti and they have three daughters and 12 grandchildren.
Dexter C. Wells
Board Member
Dexter Wells is an experienced federal law enforcement member, analyst, and veteran of the U.S. military with over 20 plus years of extensive training and criminal investigative experience. Dexter is a professor of criminal justice police community relations.
