A grant provided by Code 3 recently helped Peer Advisors, from the Prince William County Police Wellness & Resiliency Department, pursue their professional certifications as personal trainers through the American Council on Exercise. The grant funding provided not only provided them the opportunity not only to seek professional certification for the advisors, for also to grow their team from 12 to 16. 

The Peer Fitness Advisors have already begun utilising their knowledge and experience to assist other staff members with everything from exercise program designs to motivation to goal-setting. They most recently participated in the County’s annual Employee Wellness Fair, where they provided employees with body fat and blood pressure testing. They also demonstrated exercises and stretches that employees could do in their offices at their desks.
