Friday, November 17th, 2017 held the first annual Turkey Bowl and Thanksgiving dinner in Anacostia Park, organized by Code 3 and their partner The House DC. Like Code 3, The House DC is an organization geared towards helping the community, specifically children, and providing them opportunity to grow up with the best life possible.
During the event, the identities of the police were left out when introducing them to the children, so they would come to realize those in law enforcement are people just like them. This proved to be a successful tactic, as the children left all negative connotations off the field and developed genuine relationships with the officers.
