Police and community members are coming together now more than ever to transform their neighborhoods. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is going to great lengths to highlight specific police departments around the country for their advances in areas such as community relations and officer effectiveness training. She will be traveling to six cities nationwide who have been chosen specifically for their success in working together to achieve better law enforcement expertise and relational success with their communities. With the heightened attention on appropriate police tactics lately, it is undeniable that there are challenges in many neighborhoods in our nation that present barriers between police and those they serve. The Attorney General is choosing not to shy away from these issues, but to make the effort to seek out the cities who can be an example for the rest of the nation. It is essential to have support for both law enforcement and individuals in the community, so this tour is sure to boost morale and spur others on to persevere and continue to strive for effectiveness in the profession as well as positive community relationships.
